Tracy Rapp, PE

OVERVIEW

I am happily married 33 years with 3 adult children.  I am a graduate of Reading High School and Florida Institute of Technology with a BSEE.  Interests include music, travel, disc golf, SCUBA diving, racquetball, philately, and chess.

I am a licensed PE in PA and multiple other states.

My current role involves supporting the growth of Century 3 Engineering into the Pittsburgh region, into new markets, and building strategic alliances between Century 3 and other engineering and architectural firms.

Formerly, as the Global Discipline Manager of Electrical/Life Safety/Telecom Engineering for Jacobs’ Electronics business, I managed a staff of over 200 direct and indirect reports serving semiconductor and data center clients. I also served as Engineering Manager for the Pittsburgh office of Jacobs’ Electronics business.

For 2 years, I worked at Robson Forensic, as an engineering expert witness consultant, providing testimony, technical reports, fire investigations, and evidence inspections in cases where technical and scientific answers are needed to resolve litigation and insurance claims of personal injury and property loss.

I worked for 5 years for CH2M’s Advanced Technology Group and their subsidiary IDC Architects as Sr. EE and Electrical Engineering Subject Matter Expert (SME), serving data center, semiconductor, and other private sector clients.

I worked for one year at Baker Intl as their Electrical Design Mngr.  With more than 2,900 employees in over 90 offices across the US and globe (in 2010), Baker is ranked by ENR among the top 10% of the 500 largest US design firms.

Prior to my Baker employment, I worked for CH2M in multiple roles including Operations Manager, Project Manager, Client Service Manager, Electrical Department Manager and Electrical Engineering SME. I moved to Pittsburgh from my hometown in Reading in 1989 for this opportunity.  In my 20 years here:

  • I grew CH2M’s business in the Solar PV manufacturing market sector, implementing MSFT Dynamics CRM, managing key client accounts, developing market strategies, preparing proposals, and managing projects.
  • I had responsibility for engineering operations, office administration, project delivery, financial performance, contracts and risk management, HR, BD & Marketing, and PI/QA. Prior to be acquired by Jacobs, CH2M/IDC was an industry leader in the design of semiconductor fabrication facilities (fabs) and Data Centers.
  • I was a lead electrical engineer, in responsible charge of the design of life safety, power distribution, and lighting systems for advanced technology, commercial, and industrial facilities and providing coordination with clients, vendors, contractors, AHJs and utilities.

In summary, my areas of expertise include Electrical Engineering, Engineering Management, Project Management, Consulting, Master Planning, Site Selection and design of High-Tech facilities such as Fabs, Clean rooms, Labs, Data Centers, and PV manufacturing.
